HR Research Institute

The HR Research Institute provides research, data collection/ survey, and analysis services on business and employee issues.  The HR Research Institute is backed by an independent review panel including:

Louise Broekman: HR strategist and founding Director of the HR Coach Research Institute.

Dr. Polly Parker: Director of MBA Studies at the UQ Business School and senior lecturer in leadership and human resource management. She has published articles in international refereed journals in her research areas of career management, leadership and the intersection of leadership and career development.

Professor Marie Wilson: Head of Management and International Business at University of Auckland. Her career spans Human Resources, including as an executive in the US computer industry. She holds a PhD (Management) and JD (Employment and Commercial Law) from the University of Arizona.

Martie-Louise Verreynne: Lecturer in entrepreneurship at the University of Queensland. Martie-Louise has published and presented research in the areas of strategic management and corporate entrepreneurship. Her current research looks at growth in Australian small firms.

Sandy Deans:  Sandy has a Masters degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management. Sandy now works in human resource development for the medical science and research sector.  Sandy’s expertise includes roles as General Manager of Human Resources with the Bank of Queensland; Director of Human Resources at Conrad Jupiters; Manager for Volunteer Recruitment for the 2000 Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games and consulting to the Coles Myer merger and World Expo 88.

STAR Workplace Program

The STAR Workplace program is designed to recognise and celebrate the achievements of STAR employers and the dedicated employees that work within the organisation.  Based on research conducted by the HR Coach Research Institute, the STAR Workplace Program is a key measure of an organisation's ability to create Strategic Action in their business.  It also highlights organisations that are committed to attracting, retaining and developing high quality staff.

 

HR Quarterly Index

 The HR Quarterly Index, produced by HR Coach, is a national based research initiative to report on the changing landscape of HR within the business sector. The HR Quarterly Index provides a snap shot of the research results. The report evaluates measurements of business confidence and people issues, identifying the perceived impact on business performance.

The HR Quarterly Index provides HR professionals, business advisors, industry bodies, government and business owners and managers with insights into the broader industry issues and the effects on the business sectors’ ability to contribute to the Australian economy.

 

Gen Y's Impact on the Workplace

Gen Y is a hot topic and many insights have been offered.  HR Coach recently launched a pilot study to delve deeper than the words on the page to research what really motivates Gen Y through an inclusive study that values the insight and responses of all workers- the Builders, Boomers, Gen Xers and Gen Y.
