What does Black Friday mean to your Business on Monday and beyond?

The modern age of Australian prosperity was dealt a massive blow on Friday the 10th of October. A year to the day since the Australian stock exchange had enjoyed its highest point a global panic saw the largest one day loss in its history. That panic has penetrated mainstream Australia and has left businesses wondering how it will affect them.

In response to this ever mounting concern, the HR Coach Research Institute is pleased to announce the timely release of the HR Quarterly Index Report. The Quarterly Index is a longitudinal initiative capturing data and reporting on the changing landscape of HR in the Business sector.
Louise Broekman, Managing Director and founder of the HR Coach Research Institute, commented, “Amongst the key findings for this quarter’s index: Australia’s top three issues for business for the first time in three years do not include employee recruitment and retention. This is a substantial movement in the market.”
When asked what implications the latest results would have on business, Ms Broekman was quick to identify an emerging trend. The growing gap between Business Confidence and Labour Supply Confidence, identified by HR Coach as the Productivity Risk Factor, is evidence that the market has shifted and that business will need to focus on productivity.
Another result of note is the importance Employee Confidence will play as panic and uncertainty seeps into the market. “In times of turbulence and uncertainty, business owners need to keep their feet firmly on the ground and not get spooked. Make well informed decisions and involve employees where possible.”
The HR Coach Network is experiencing a substantial increase in demand for its services as businesses look to manage the storm.   For more information on joining the HR Coach Network or accessing the services of your local Coach, please contact HR Coach on 1300 550 674 or email business@hrcoach.com.au .
